Coaching
Get direct, personalized help with your acting, auditions, materials, and next career move.
Private coaching is for actors who want focused, one-on-one attention on the specific gap holding them back — whether that's the craft, the audition, their materials, or the way they're approaching the business.
No generic notes.
No one-size-fits-all class plan.
No guessing what to work on next.
Just clear, practical coaching built around where you are now and where you're trying to go.
⊙ Start Here
Not sure if coaching is what you need?
That's exactly what the Actor Clarity Call is for.
We'll look at where you are, what you're trying to build, and what's actually holding you back. If private coaching makes sense, we'll talk about it. If the 8-Week Bookable Bootcamp or Actor Craft Club Membership is a better fit, we'll tell you that too.
The point is not to push you into the most expensive option.
The point is to help you stop guessing.
⊙ Fit Check
Private coaching may be right for you if…
01
You want direct feedback on your acting, auditions, self-tapes, or materials.
02
You feel stuck and need a clear outside eye.
03
You're preparing for something specific and want stronger choices.
04
You want more personal attention than a group class can provide.
05
You're newer and don't know what to focus on first.
06
You're more experienced, but something still isn't clicking.
07
You want honest direction from someone who understands both the actor's side and the casting/filmmaking side.
⊙ The Work
What we can work on
Coaching Track
Acting & Scene Work
Work directly on scenes, monologues, auditions, or sides. We'll look at what's actually happening in the work — not just whether it feels emotional or "good."
The goal is to help your work become more alive, specific, believable, and playable.
Coaching Track
Audition Coaching
Auditions require a different skill set than class work.
We can work on breaking down sides, finding stronger choices, understanding the scene quickly, adjusting for self-tape, and making your auditions feel more prepared without becoming overworked.
You should leave with a clearer process — not just a better take.
Coaching Track
Self-Tape Coaching
Your self-tape is often the room now.
We can look at performance, framing, energy, reader setup, pace, clarity, and how the tape comes across from the other side of the table.
Small adjustments can make a huge difference in how castable and confident your work feels.
Coaching Track
Career & Materials Coaching
Sometimes the issue is not your acting.
Sometimes your headshots, reel, resume, casting profiles, or overall positioning are not clearly communicating who you are and what you're right for.
We can look at what you currently have and give you honest, practical direction on what needs to change.
Coaching Track
Beginner Direction
If you're newer, private coaching can help you avoid wasting months guessing.
We can help you understand where to start, what training matters most, what materials you actually need, and what your next 30–90 days should look like.
You do not need to have everything figured out before coaching. That's the point.
⊙ The Process
How it works
1
Book an Actor Clarity Call
Start with a short call so we can understand where you are, what you're working toward, and what kind of support would actually help.
2
Get a clear recommendation
We'll recommend the best next step based on your situation. That may be private coaching, the 8-Week Bookable Bootcamp, Actor Craft Club Membership, or another next step.
3
Start with the right support
If private coaching is the right fit, we'll discuss what kind of coaching makes sense — a single session, a short package, or ongoing support.
⊙ Your Coach
Who you'll work with
I'm James Larson — actor, acting coach, filmmaker, and founder of Actor Craft Club.
I trained at the Neighborhood Playhouse in New York, the original Meisner school, and I've spent more than twenty years on both sides of the table: as an actor in the room, and as a filmmaker and producer watching actors audition, prepare, and work on camera.
That perspective matters.
Because from behind the table, you see very quickly that the actors who move forward are not always the most talented in some vague way.
They are usually the actors whose work is clearer, more specific, better prepared, and easier to trust.
That's what I help actors build.
⊙ The Standard
This is not generic acting advice
Private coaching is not about giving you vague encouragement or telling you to "just be more confident."
You'll get support, but you'll also get honest notes.
You'll get encouragement, but also direction.
You'll get practical next steps, not just inspiration.
If you want to be taken seriously as an actor, the work has to get specific.
That's what we do here.
⊙ The Outcome
What you'll walk away with
⊙
A stronger scene or audition.
⊙
Clearer acting choices.
⊙
A better self-tape approach.
⊙
Honest feedback on your materials.
⊙
A clearer sense of your casting.
⊙
A focused training plan.
⊙
Specific next steps for your career.
⊙
A better understanding of what is actually holding you back.
The goal is clarity — because when you know what to work on, you can stop guessing and start improving.
⊙ Choosing
Private coaching vs. Bootcamp vs. Membership
Choose Private Coaching if
One-on-one attention
You want direct one-on-one attention on your specific acting, auditions, materials, or career questions.
Choose the Bootcamp if
8-Week Bookable Bootcamp
You want a structured program to build your craft, auditions, materials, and career foundation over eight weeks.
Choose Membership if
Actor Craft Club Membership
You want ongoing training, community, classes, and support to stay sharp over time.
Still not sure?
⊙ Ready When You Are
Ready for direct help?
Private coaching starts with a conversation.
We'll look at where you are, what you need, and what kind of support makes the most sense. If coaching is the right fit, we'll talk about next steps. If something else would serve you better, we'll point you there.
